Mrs. Melson

Hi Northeast students and parents!
I am Mrs. Melson the school librarian! I have been in the Kearney Public Schools since 1994 and I have been the school librarian in many buildings at once! I have been at Northeast the longest.  I am a UNK graduate and have also been a UNL student throughout my learning years.  I have a BA in El. Ed. and a K-12 library endorsement from UNK, also an MA degree in Instructional Technology from UNK.  I am a parent of 3 wonderful adult children and a grandma to 5 cute little kids!
I am a teacher/librarian and teach all students in our building at least once a week! Northeast students have "media" class once per week and I also have time with 3rd, 4th and 5th graders for keyboarding instruction. During media class students learn about technology, research, digital citizenship and literature appreciation as well as have the opportunity to check out books. I look forward to seeing you all in the library this year!
If you have questions or concerns, I can be reached in the Northeast library at 308-698-8232 or at my e-mail
